Compassion and outreach created
the Welfare Reform Ministry Task Force. Its purpose is to be
partners in ministry with Asian Health Services (AHS) and CityTeam Ministries in the Chinatown community. Our partnerships included financial support as well as voluntary service.
Financial support enabled Asian Health Services to provide low income, uninsured immigrants with much needed medical and dental care. Annually, the church's toy drive brings joy and laughter to young patients who come to the Asian Health Services clinic during the Christmas season.
Financial support also enabled CityTeam to provide its clients much needed assistance for rental deposits or a month's rent to avoid eviction from their homes. Every fifth Sunday of the month, a faithful group of us is honored to gather at CityTeam to lead worship, pray with the men and women and serve dinner to them. |

the 1st and 3rd Sundays, at 4:00PM at PANA House in Berkeley . Issues to be addressed will include God and natural disasters, Advent/consumerism/no room at the inn, the Japanese Internment & Reparations, and Reflections on Vietnam , past and present. The vision of the Pan Asian Ministy include:
1. Developing a worship service that is Pan Asian in nature.
2. Being open to exploring a progressive theology.
3. Promoting social justice in the wider community, especially in those areas that speak to the
